April 11th, 2009 1:00 PM   -   2:30 PM
Come and learn about nanotechnology, the ways that scientists exploit particle size to create new technologies, and the various methods used to assess nanoparticle toxicity. Sandra Bishnoi, a chemistry professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology, will discuss some of the nanosensors that she has designed adn how her group is investigating the environmental toxicity of these materials using Daphnia Magna, a crustacean found in ponds and streams.
