What a blast we had this weekend - LabFest! Museum of Science and Industry was SO much fun! It was the end of a very busy week for Science Chicago, and it was wonderful to see all the kids and adults who came out for the event – the Museum was packed! There was something there for everyone, and even though I tried really hard, even I couldn’t make it to all the activities. But here’s what I did get to…

Dunked my hands into buckets of oobleck to learn about non-Newtonian fluids (the video isn't from our pool, but it looks pretty similar!)
Watched Mike Davis’ awesome Science Show (lots of explosions!)
Almost got run over by some of the huge robots created by FIRST Robotics
Saw the wonderful 137 Films production The Atom Smashers
Talked to polar scientist Mary Albert from PolarPalooza (she was so great to talk to and I got to touch a 3,000 year-old ice core!!)
Ate too many popsicles
Went on the first Geocaching Science Saturdays tour in Jackson Park (I even found a cache!)
Watched kids make their own paper with the Museum of Science and Industry team

I learned a lot of new things at LabFest! – thanks so much to all the Science Chicago partners who brought their activities and demonstrations. But most importantly, I enjoyed meeting all the young people and families who are excited to learn more about science! I hope to see you at Science Chicago events in the future Special thanks also to Susan, Anne and Jeff for all their hard work!
