The Morton Arboretum is a 1,700 acre outdoor museum of magnificent trees and beautiful landscapes, located in Lisle, IL. Its mission is to encourage the planting and conservation of trees and other plants for a greener, healthier, and more beautiful world. Open 365 days a year, the Arboretum has nine miles of roads, 16 miles of hiking trails, an award winning Children’s Garden, and a one-acre Maze Garden. Since the Arboretum’s beginning in 1922, practical, scientific research has been a cornerstone activity. Our education program, begun in 1940 by leading natural history educator May Watts, offers more than 600 educational classes for adults and children that expand and revitalize a lifelong interest in nature.
