STC Chicago has a rich tradition of providing diverse educational and networking experiences to technical communication professionals, as well as cultivating relationships between technology, science, academia, and industry. Through special programs and community involvement, we help members, teachers, and students explore scientific communication, identify its challenges, and find solutions to communicate their messages to a variety of audiences.

STC Chicago is one of the oldest and largest chapters of the Society of Technical Communication, with our mission being to serve the professional needs of technical communicators, technical communication educators, researchers, managers, and students. Our members have the crucial job of planning, designing, organizing, writing, editing, and testing information, and their roles include technical writers and editors, content developers, instructional designers, usability professionals, web designers and developers, and translators.
